Our members take on some exciting challenges during their aviation adventures. One such challenge, the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors Program, was established by the Virginia Department of Transportation. This program encourages pilots and aviation enthusiasts to visit each of Virginia’s 60+ paved public airports in 7 distinct regions.

Dan Botzer and Bill Wemhoff are taking on this challenge and are in the process of flying our Piper Cherokee Warrior around Virginia to visit each public airport in the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors Program. Most recently on August 8, 2019, Dan and Bill visited 9 airports in one day! Wow! That is impressive and demonstrates our members love of aviation.

Dan and Bill are at different stages in this challenge, but have visited 15 airports together. Once they hit their goal of visiting all airports in the Virginia Aviation Ambassadors program, we will post an update on this great accomplishment.
