The long Memorial Day weekend is usually the unofficial start of Summer. This past weekend was no different and some of our members used this opportunity and the great weather to get in some awesome flights.
Tom and his son took N9397W out on Saturday morning for a jaunt down to KOFP and Kings Dominion. During their flight, Mike A. happened to hear them flying over Lake Anna and ran outside to capture these awesome photos.
Later in the afternoon, my wife and I took N9397W out on a birthday flight down to Richmond. We exited the SFRA via FLUKY and ATC was busy! A lot of pilots were taking advantage of the great weather. We flew down to Richmond International Airport and did a touch and go before heading north to Hanover County Airport (KOFP) where we had lunch with my Mom. Around 4pm, we headed back to KHEF through the BRV gate.
Finally, on Sunday, Mike W. took N9397W back home to Ohio for a visit. Mike captured some beautiful photos during his IFR flight.
It was a busy weekend for the FAA Flying Club! Take your social distancing to new heights and stay safe while flying!
