EAA Airventure 2019 is in the books and Mike, Tom, and our Piper Cherokee Warrior are home safe and sound. EAA just released some initial facts and figures from AirVenture 2019 and it is quite impressive! Attendance was up 6.8% over 2018 and from all of the posts on social media, it looks and sounds like everyone had a terrific time despite the challenging start due to the storms and adverse weather that hit Oshkosh at the beginning of the week.
Here’s a quick recap on the week in Oshkosh from Mike:
It’s almost impossible to do justice in an email to the trip. Along the way we had a flat tire in Dayton (cut valve stem). I got to use my instrument rating on the way out and back. I flew 5 practice flights for the mass arrival. Did the mass arrival and got some video. Spent 1:45 in the conga line waiting to take off. Flew the Chicago skyline twice. Saw the Airshow several times. Had a nice flight back.
Mike also took some great photos and videos that you can see on the club’s Facebook page and below.
Thanks, Mike and Tom, for making the trip out to Oshkosh and sharing your experiences with all of us back home!
